GameSpy - Batman: Arkham Asylum Hands-On: It is unlikely that I will get the time to play Arkham Asylum this year. So this hands on report that details some of the gadgets you can wield as Bats in the soon-to-be-released title is probably as close as I will get. Still, for any Cold War kids that are still gaming, this harkening back to the age where it was ok to collect comics may finally give the Dark Detective his due in the gaming medium.
GI Joe 2 in Production: I realize that this was probably a no-brainer if you have seen the movie and the obvious opening for the follow-on in the ending. I just realized that the ending very much mirrors the end of the first X-Men movie, while I have already commented to friends how the climactic battle is very heavily reminiscent of the original Star Wars ending for A New hope. I've given the movie 2 out of 5 stars. And I definitely do not think that the franchise needs even more of a slant towards children and families. That is what drove the 1990's Batman movie franchise into the dirt.
Acer Aspire Timeline 5810T Reviewed at Laptop Magazine: I have a hard time understanding who would consciously choose these platforms. I can understand someone who wants a 15" laptop but can not afford a mainstream model. I understand that this model is light, but it actually has a larger footprint and is thicker than the MacBook Pro(most recent rev; not mine). And it has specs more akin to a netbook than a notebook in the desktop replacement size-category, or even machines in the thin-and-light strata. If anyone is out there scouting these and is ready to pounce, or, better yet, if you already bought one, pls let me know why. What were you looking for, what were your final candidates for purchase, and how did you neck down to this product over something more conventional? Thanks.
