| « Customer Service - Chronicles: MSI X-340 and Newegg, Day Two | From the Forums - TabletPC Edition » |
You guys know how much of a stickler I am for grading customer service. After two months of use, my MSI X-340 laptop has failed. Time of failure, 10:30PM last night. This is a big hit to take as the MSI was the one of the lightest packages I run, but also has a 320GB hard drive, and currently houses a copy of my entire iTunes archive.
The hard drive is no longer recognized by the system. So I could have a hard drive problem or it could be a problem with the I/O controller on the board. I can see that the HD gets power. The really bad thing is that since the unit is under warranty, I can not troubleshoot it myself, so I have to sit and wait.
I have had no luck getting through to any MSI site that would help. Every link I've clicked and URL I've entered both last night and this morning times out. What the heck?!
I've left Newegg (who I bought the unit from) an email requesting assistance in contacting MSI to get this unit repaired or replaced. We'll see how it goes and I'll keep you all posted here.
For the time being, this product is labeled with a firm GW "Stay Away" stamp until this gets resolved.
