Finally Had to Unload - When iPad Arguments Make Me Mad
I have predominantly watched the iPad flamewars from the sidelines. I myself have gone from cold to hot to cold to repsectful with regards to the device. I was just about to pull the trigger on an iPad when the announcement came out about the Archos 7 Home Tablet being available for pre-order on Amazon. I struggled for days over whether to go with the safe bet in the iPad, or taking a chance as an early adopter and trusting that the Archos 7 would allow me some degree of productiveness on the go. At the end of the day, I decided to drop my Fujitsu U820 and replace it with a Toshiba NB305-N410BL NetBook for my ultraportable laptop needs, and an Archos 7 Home Tablet for my slate-style companion computing needs. I chose the Archos over the iPad due to cost, deciding that the Archos was much more reasonably priced for what it does than the iPad. Still, I maintain a healthy respect for Apple's latest product. And some of the whole iPad versus netbook business has been burning my bum, and I finally had to unload on someone. Here is the original article over at jkontherun, if you are intersted. And here follows my rant:
