There are a few things that might be guaranteed with a Deus Ex title. One is a storyline that exceeds your average shooter and will keep you from knowing who the good guys really are. A complex crafting system that allows physical buffs, numerous enabling skills, and combat specialties that range from the up-close-and-personal to the psionic. Lots and lots of hours of gameplay. And the ability to spend those hours playing each situation differently; like a first-person sneaker, or the frontal assault type. The latter has its own side-effects, but it is available.
EDGE Magazine hits the devs up with a few questions in this interview. This title has the potential to return the franchise to the glory found in the original, and perhaps to push the 2nd version into the dark recesses of our memories. The original was one of the first games to really confuse the lines between RPG and FPS, so here's hoping that this 3rd entry goes just as well.
